French firm says the acquisition of Huel will help it grow in the nutritional sector.
Huel, founded by Julian Hearn in 2015, provides nutritionally complete food products that can be used to reduce meal times and provide essential nutrients. Danone, which owns brands such as Aptamil, Activia, and Evian, says the deal will help it grow in the nutrition sector.
The acquisition is subject to final completion and marks an important milestone for Danone. A spokesperson for the company said: "With our mission to bring health through food to as many people as possible, and our long-standing heritage in functional nutrition, Huel's expertise in complete nutrition is set to be a strong complement to our portfolio."
