Roehampton University offers students £2,000 a year to play esports alongside their studies.
Millions of pounds worth of scholarships and bursary funding go unclaimed by students each year, with many unaware that extra help exists. Roehampton University is changing this by offering esports scholarships to undergraduate and postgraduate students who can balance academic progress and video-gaming excellence. Esports Scholarship Details:
* The university offers more than 100 esports scholarships
* Scholars must compete in weekly university tournaments and represent the university at in-person events
* Minimum rankings in major games are required, but applications from those close to the threshold who meet other criteria will be considered Student Debt and Financial Support:
* The average graduate in England leaves university with debts of more than £47,500
* Scholarships such as Roehampton's can reduce student debt and provide additional financial support
