About 8.7 million customers had their data accessed and a ransom was demanded.

* Approximately 8.7 million customers across three UK airports (Manchester, East Midlands, and London Stansted) had their data accessed in a cyber security incident.
* The hackers obtained contact details, vehicle registrations, postcodes, email addresses, and some personal information from WiFi sign-ups and other airport services.
* The airport group refused to pay the ransom demand made by the hackers.
* Customers are advised to remain vigilant about suspicious emails, text messages, or phone calls and avoid opening unknown attachments.
* The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is assessing the incident.
* Anyone concerned by the breach can access support on the ICO website.
* The airport group has apologized for any inconvenience caused and assured that passenger safety and aviation security were not compromised.
