Economist Daron Acemoglu on liberal democracy in crisis and how AI could make it worse
Acemoglu warns that the development and use of artificial intelligence (AI) could exacerbate these issues by increasing inequality and putting people out of work. "We're not being asked" about how AI will shape society, he says, particularly for those in non-Western countries who have no say in its implementation. Acemoglu's views are featured in an episode of the BBC's "The Interview", a podcast that brings conversations with influential individuals from around the world.
