Xbox said the limits were due to the rising cost of cloud gaming, and would allow it to invest more in its performance
* Basic Essential tier subscribers get 5 hours of cloud playtime per month
* Premium users get 10 hours
* Ultimate subscribers can stream for up to 15 hours a month before having to purchase extra cloud playtime
Xbox claims only 4% of Game Pass subscribers use its cloud gaming service, which would affect around 1.2 million users out of the 30 million who subscribe to the service.
Users will be able to buy additional cloud playtime through the Xbox store, but prices have not been revealed.
This change is due to rising costs and a "crisis" in computing prices, according to Asha Sharma, Xbox's chief executive.
