Schwartz’s, one of Montreal’s most famous delis, has changed suppliers for its black cherry soda.
The distributor had been cutting back production since the rising cost of aluminum made it difficult to maintain profitability. Schwartz's struggled with this issue for 8 years before the cola became unavailable altogether.
To fill the gap, the restaurant has switched to a locally-made version of the soda which its customers have largely accepted.
