The threat against one of Canada's largest companies comes amid an escalating trade war between the two neighbours.

* President Trump has threatened to block Bombardier from selling its planes in the US unless it moves manufacturing operations there.
* Bombardier employs 3,500 American workers and operates facilities in several US states.
* The company's jets are built at facilities in Canada, the US, and Mexico and comply with the North American free trade agreement (CUSMA/USMCA).
* Quebec Premier Christine Fréchette has offered her government's full support to Bombardier and stated that Quebec will not allow anyone to dictate where its companies must produce.
* The threat comes amid an escalating trade war between the US and Canada, with Canadian retaliatory tariffs set to be imposed on $20bn worth of US goods.
