Iceland supermarket chain to open first UK high street brand on Falkland Islands in December.
The store, located in Stanley, will serve a population of 3,500 and provide competition to other retailers on the island.
Iceland's boss, Lord Richard Walker, stated that the company has been eyeing the market for some time due to its underserved nature.
He also mentioned that the frozen food products sold by Iceland transport and export well, making it a good fit for the Falkland Islands' market.
The store will be in partnership with Kelper Stores and is expected to offer prices almost 30% lower than other competitors on the island.
