Mon, 14 Sep 2026 Food redistribution warehouse opens in east London

The Big Heart Food Hub in Barking aims to deliver 10 tonnes of food to charities each week.
The hub will support over 20 local organizations that work directly with residents struggling financially, providing them with supplies they don't have the resources to obtain on their own. The goal is not only to feed those in need but also to create jobs and provide training opportunities in the future. According to the Trust for London, food insecurity has increased by 23% from 2022/23 to 2024/25. The partnership hopes to make a difference by delivering surplus good food to residents and families who deserve it.
