Wed, 23 Sep 2026 Bentley unveils its first fully electric car

The SUVs will be built on a new production line in Crewe, which has been Bentley's base since 1946.

* Bentley has unveiled its first fully electric car, the Torcal SUV.
* The Torcal will be built on a brand-new production line at Bentley's factory in Cheshire, which has been upgraded with a £350m investment.
* The new production line is inside an original factory building dating from 1938 and features autonomous guided vehicles to move cars through the production process.
* The Torcal has a range of up to 375 miles (600km) and can charge from 10% to 80% in less than 20 minutes using a 400kW charger.
* The car comes in two models: the Torcal S, which is the most powerful Bentley ever with a top speed of 162mph, and the standard Torcal model, which has a top speed of 155mph.
* Materials such as leather, wool, and aluminium are used in the car's interior.
* The £350m investment will support 4,000 high-value local jobs in Crewe, according to Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds.
* The UK government is investing £7.5bn to support a transition to electric vehicles, with plans to phase out new petrol and diesel cars from 2030.
