Thu, 24 Sep 2026 Rolls-Royce signs 'multi-million' engine deal

The order will see 18 engines built and maintained by the company from its Derby aerospace centre.
Rolls-Royce has reached an agreement with Philippine Airlines to provide engines and maintenance services for nine new Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. The deal, worth hundreds of millions of pounds, includes 18 Trent XWB-97 engines that can operate using up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel and are planned to run on 100% in the future. This order follows a previous agreement between Philippine Airlines and Rolls-Royce in 2023 for nine aircraft with the same engine type. The deal is expected to bring jobs and investment to Rolls-Royce's Derby base, which will be responsible for servicing and monitoring the engines throughout their operational life.
