The president named his national intelligence chief as the taskforce's head as worries over AI grow.
* President Trump has created a new taskforce, "Super Intelligence Force", focused on artificial intelligence (now referred to as "Super Intelligence" or "SI").
* The taskforce will be led by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton and will coordinate the government's engagement with various groups and companies.
* The taskforce includes other members such as Federal Trade Commission Chair Andrew Ferguson, Undersecretary of Defense for Research Emil Michael, and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor.
* The "Super Intelligence Force" will report directly to President Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
* This move comes after Trump signed an executive order renaming AI to Super Intelligence on September 29.
* Prominent figures in the industry, including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, have called for tighter regulation of the technology.
* However, Trump has dismissed calls for stronger oversight and instead chosen to leave it up to AI companies to regulate themselves.
