Tue, 06 Oct 2026 NHS supply lorry drivers to strike in pay dispute

Drivers who deliver medical equipment to hospitals across England reject a 4% pay increase.
NHS supply lorry drivers employed by GXO in several regions are set to stage five walkouts from October 13-15, 20-22, 27-29 and November 3-5 and 10-12. The drivers, who deliver essential medical equipment such as bandages, gloves and needles to hospitals across England, have rejected a 4% pay offer from GXO, which runs the NHS supply chain contract. The union representing the drivers, Unite, says there is still time for strike action to be avoided if a more acceptable deal is offered. Contingency plans are in place to minimize disruption to hospital supplies, but the dispute remains ongoing with no resolution yet reached.
