Thu, 08 Oct 2026 Derry firm becomes one of UK's biggest car park operators after buying NCP

The Martin Group has become one of the UK's biggest car park operators after buying NCP out of administration.
A major car park operator, NCP, has collapsed into administration with its business being taken over by Martin Group, a Londonderry company. The deal will see more than 100 sites controlled by Martin Group and hundreds of jobs saved. NCP had been struggling due to long-term leases and large amounts of debt, leading it to close or transfer some of its sites in March 2026. The administrators, PwC, say the sale protects the livelihoods of many employees and delivers a good outcome for creditors. Martin Group already has a significant commercial property portfolio across the UK, including shopping centers and hotels. The company's goal is to revitalize the NCP brand and restore its presence in town and city centers.
