Wed, 21 Oct 2026 Just Eat apologises for AI food mistakes after social media ridicule

A spokesperson said it was removing inaccurate AI images and pausing the rollout of the tool.

* A "chip muffin" was shown with chips poking out of a muffin
* "Bacon and egg soda" showed bacon and eggs floating in a glass of cola (confusing "soda" for "soda bread")
* "Salt and pepper chips" involved frying chips with onions, garlic and chillies
* A "cheese roll" was turned into sushi
* A Belfast cafe's "bacon and egg soda bread" dish was shown as a fizzy drink with cooked egg and bacon floating in it
* A "garlic plane" (misspelling of "plain") showed garlic bread in the shape of a plane
