Mon, 02 Nov 2026 Binance users withdraw $3.6bn after record crypto hack

The exchange froze transactions in the wake of the incident, which impacted $6.3bn worth of digital assets.
Binance suspended transactions and covered around 95% of the stolen assets, but the remaining amount may take longer to source. The company has repeatedly stated that they will cover all losses linked to the attack. In a statement on X, Binance reported that between November 1, 06:00 and 15:30 GMT, $4.649 billion in withdrawals and $1.01 billion in deposits occurred, resulting in a net outflow of approximately $3.64 billion. The company stated that Sunday's net withdrawals account for just over 2% of the $171bn of assets under its management. Binance added that withdrawals of major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum have resumed, but more services will be restored in phases once security checks are completed.
