Apple’s foldable iPhone Duo was a hit with people willing to spend $2,000 on a new mobile.
Apple's new CEO, John Ternus, says the company is struggling to meet demand for its foldable iPhone Duo after it quickly sold out at launch. The phone costs $1,999 and some buyers have reported screens cracking. Despite this issue, Apple executives didn't mention any problems during a call with financial analysts on Monday. However, they did acknowledge that supply constraints are still affecting various products, including Mac computers, iPads, and wearables.
Sales of iPhones rose 17% to $57 billion in the last quarter, with overall sales at Apple reaching a record $479 billion. However, other product lines saw declines: iPad sales fell by 10%, while wearable products like watches and headphones dropped by 7%. The company's supply chain issues are being driven by difficulty in getting microprocessors with "advanced nodes", which are crucial for device performance.
Apple is also experiencing unprecedented cost increases for memory storage due to increased demand from data centres. As a result, the company has raised prices on most of its hardware products by around 20%.
