US government agencies and cyber analysts have blamed Pyongyang for the record-breaking heist.

* Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, called the allegations "absurd rhetoric" and accused the US of making a "grave political provocation".
* The FBI and cyber analysts have said that North Korea's state-backed hacking group TraderTraitor was responsible for the attack.
* This is not the first time Pyongyang has been linked to major cyber attacks, with previous hacks attributed to TraderTraitor including a $1.5bn hack of crypto exchange Bybit in 2025.
* Kim Yo Jong claimed that North Korea opposes "all sorts of malicious acts in cyberspace" and denied any involvement in the Binance hack.
* Binance has said it will cover all losses linked to the attack, having already covered around 95% of the stolen assets.
