Britons have become less engaged with the jobs they do and are less willing to put in extra effort, a report has found.
* Over the last decade, Britons have become less engaged with their jobs and less willing to put in extra effort.
* The percentage of workers willing to go the extra mile to help their employer has sunk from 69% in 2015 to 55% in 2022.
* Those who were not even "fairly" satisfied with their roles has sunk to one-in-four, the lowest level on record.
* Workers are less likely than 10 years ago to say they have an interesting job (63% compared to 74%).
* The shift over the last decade may have contributed to weak productivity growth.
* Workers were also more focused on pay than in the past, which is "perhaps unsurprising... given the flatlining living standards of the past decade".
* Employers need to provide jobs that are both financially rewarding and have flexible work hours to keep workers fully engaged.
